Decks function best for outdoor living when seating is provided. Many styles are available which suit a variety of settings and uses. Built-in benches are available with or without backs, and can configured to wrap around corners. Some styles can even function as part of the deck railing.

SKIRTING

Deck skirting serves several functions besides adding to the overall appearance of your project. Skirting screens the substructure of your deck; prevents access to pets, children, and wildlife; and serves as a background for flower beds and landscaping.

DECORATIVE POSTS

Large decorative posts are available to accent your deck's appearance. Usually designed to be installed at the top and bottom of staircases, they include custom post caps in several styles. Special woodcarvings are also available from our on-staff artist, that are unique to Alaska and the Arctic.

HOT TUBS

Many Alaskans appreciate the relaxation and recreation provided by hot tubs and spas. We will design your deck to structurally support the additional weight of these amenities, provide for utility connections, and to meet the specific building code requirements for installation. Recessed designs are also available that give hot tubs and spas the low profile desired by some homeowners.

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS

Many additional options are available, limited only by our imagination! These can include overheads such as trellises, arbors, pergolas, and gazebos. The deck boards themselves can be configured to provide unique angles instead of just running parallel to your house. Also available is safety and decorative lighting that can be incorporated into the deck design.
